WE CARE
WE CARE
Giving back is fundamental to the philosophy behind Hairdressers Unite. A few small steps can make a lasting impact on the world we live in. Hairdressers Unite proudly supports the following charity initiatives.
We are proud local supporters. Everything from the coffee and tea we provide, to the handymen we hire, are local. We love Port Douglas and do our part to keep it flourishing.
RECYCLING
Hairdressers Unite cares for our environment and takes the following steps to relieve Mother Earth...
- Recycles packaging, plastics and aluminium
- Disposes product and chemical wastage in garbage disposal and not into our waterways
- Uses environmentally friendly ecoheads for basin services
If you have any further questions regarding these life changing initiatives, please contact us at Hairdressers Unite.
Hair Aid
Hair Aid is a not for profit organisation aimed towards alleviating and enhancing employment prospects for community dwellers in the slums of Manila and the Philippines. Qualified hairdressers facilitate a Livelihood Empowerment Program whereby haircutting training is provided to low skilled persons in underprivileged living circumstances. Business owner Crystal Maclennan is excited to announce that she will travelling to the Philippines later this year to share her hairdressing expertise with young hair enthusiasts.
Sun-Daze
Giving back is fundamental to the philosophy behind HU, Hairdressers Unite. A few small steps can make a lasting impact on the world we live in. HU is proud to present the SUN-DAZE fundraiser exclusive ticketed event, to be held at the beautiful Barbados Port Douglas.
With the help of our local sponsors, we aim to raise funds for important charity initiatives such as Hair Aid and Pink in the Tropics.
Our precise event date for 2018 is still to be set, but you can follow the Sun-Daze event for more information as it becomes available via the link below.
The Kitty Cut
Inspired by Crystal’s dear friend Kitty, “The Kitty cut” is a free haircutting service offered to those courageous men and women undergoing or preparing for chemo therapy. In Kitty’s words “Crystal has been so supportive throughout my breast cancer journey. She has made the experience fun, whether it’s a shave, shampoo or help with a wig. I always leave in a much brighter mood after visiting the salon.” Hairdressers Unite is passionate about the Kitty cut and invites you to make the services we provide a fun and supportive part of your cancer journey.
Pink in the Tropics
Pink in the Tropics is a local support group for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Pink in the tropics aims towards expanding knowledge and education relating to issues arising from breast cancer diagnosis. Hairdressers Unite is a proud supporter of Pink in the Tropics and warmly welcomes your support also. If you would like to get involved please click on the tab below.
