Hair Aid Induction trip to Cambodia in February 2019.
Not everyone can manage to take a full week + 2 day travel to complete a Hair Aid Project
*
BUT, we are constantly asked if there's a shorter option
*
And until now, the answer was no.
*
Now, its yes!
*
Join us for an Hair Aid Induction trip to Cambodia in February 2019.
*
Thursday 21st February until Sunday 24th February
*
During this trip you will get to experience the taste of a Hair Aid project, while still sharing your skills and teaching our previous trainees.
*
Day One 21st February 2019
*
The day will consist of a visit to a community for a tour that shares with you the homes and schools where many of our trainee live and raise families. Then we will travel to and be invited into a school where we will provide free hair cuts for children who live in slum communities nearby. After this we will share a meal at a local restaurant, before heading off to view a dance performance school students who are learning this skill to earn money. Our experiences will continue with an Evening City tour, stopping off to visit the Independent monument, Diamond and Night Markets before our evening meal along the river, via a boat cruise.
*
Day Two 22nd February 2019
*
Today we are off to visit orphanages, where we will be working with community managers and offering free haircuts to children that have no means of accessing this opportunity otherwise. This will take is 3-4 hours, as there are many orphans here. After providing this service we will head off to lunch and then off to work with ladies we have previously trained before. Our team will work one-on-one with ladies that have been rescued from the sex trade, and have learned hair cutting from our previous visit. These ladies are ready for up-skilling so they can extend their skills and continue earning money from haircutting. Dinner follows and then we have some free time.
*
Day Three 23rd February 2019
*
A slight change of pace today as we visit the Peace Sewing rooms where people with polio, club feet and those that have missing limbs work making clothes, bags, purses, and many other sewn articles. This workshop is ethically managed and Hair Aid orders items from this workshop to sell as fundraising. Lunch follows and then we are off to another location to provide more up-skilling to ladies trained before by our Hair Aid team. This group of ladies are protected as their circumstances are known as 'red' which means they have experiences extreme hardship previously. Hair Aid worked with these ladies before and they are now ready for more advanced training. Their goal is to open their own salon together. You will be training them to achieve this goal.
*
Day Four 24th February 2019
*
Our last day, and we will be visiting the Killing fields and S1 before gathering and experiencing a Monk Blessing from a Buddhist Monk
*
