We need you to be on the ground in Siem Reap by Sunday, before the project begins.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor those that choose to fly in \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eto \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eSiem Reap on Saturday before the project, you can either 1) complete some private travel and sightseeing or 2) come straight to the accommodation, meet the Project Leader and any other volunteers already there, and do some sightseeing or shopping in and around the city before the project begins.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNo matter what day you fly in, local drivers will meet every volunteer at the airport and transport them to the project accommodations.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSunday morning:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e we do some food shopping for the week's breakfasts and lunches, and then find a nice place for lunch. After lunch, we wait for everyone on the project to arrive at the accommodations.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSunday afternoon:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e once everyone is together, the project leader will do induction and cultural training, hand out team uniforms, review the training manual, and answer any questions you might have.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTeams are formed, and resources are packed. (Volunteers are placed in teams of 2-4 and will travel to locations daily as a group).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMonday morning:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e we eat breakfast at the accommodation, and then teams travel to the training location and begin the five-day training program. Every day, a driver will take the Hair Aid teams to and from the locations.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMonday morning on site:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e We set up, then we teach how to use hair cutting tools, head shapes, how to section hair, and how to do a straight cut. We work on live models. We usually gain models from the local community, friends or family, and even workers in local businesses. By the end of the first day, the trainees should have cut 2–3 straight cuts. We finish training at 4 pm each day. We take a break for lunch when it best suits the trainees.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOn day 2,\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Tuesday, we teach how to diagonally move forward and backwards and layer. Again, we train on live models so that the trainees are learning to cut on real, live people. By Tuesday afternoon, the trainees should have cut 2-3 more hair cuts.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOn Wednesday:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e we teach graduation\/bob cut.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThursday\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e is when we teach men’s cuts. This is a wonderful day, as many people have gained great skills and can confidently do 2–3 men’s cuts in a day!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOn Friday,\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e we demonstrate a few different styles, encouraging the learners to see what they can achieve with more practice. Then we hold a celebration party, and everyone who has completed the training and can do the haircuts gets a personal certificate from Hair Aid.
